If you are interested in running for Frenchtown elected offices (Clerk, Constable, Supervisor, Treasurer or Trustee) the deadline for filing a petition with the Township Clerk’s Office is April 21, 2020 by 4:00 pm. Due to COVID-19 and the Governor’s Executive Order 2020-21 to Stay Home and Stay Safe, you can observe the social distancing guidelines and file an Affidavit of Identity and simply pay a $100.00 filing fee or in the alternative if you wish to get petition signatures: 1. Candidates with political party affiliation must file an Affidavit of Identity and Partisan Nominating Petition or 2. Candidates without political party affiliation must file an Affidavit of Identity and a Qualifying petition. Nominating or Qualifying petitions require a minimum of 20 signatures and a maximum of 40 signatures. You can click here for the Affidavit of Identity form. If you would like a petition form, please email clerk@frenchtownchartertwp.org with your name and phone number and we will contact you to make arrangements or you can call Clerk Kyle Bryant directly at 734-770-3306 to make arrangements. Reminder in order to file for a Frenchtown elected office, you must be a Frenchtown resident.

Frenchtown Township will have a May 5, 2020 election for a ballot proposal for Monroe Public Schools only. Per Governor Whitmer's Executive Order 2020-27, in regards to the May 5, 2020 elections across the State of Michigan, the State will be mailing out Absent Voter Ballot Applications to Frenchtown residents that reside in the Monroe Public School's district. Duplicate Absent Voter Applications may appear - to check the status of your Absent Voter Ballot you can email: clerk@frenchtownchartertwp.org or call (734) 242-5800 ext, 3. You can either mail the Absent voter ballot application to 2744 Vivian Road, Monroe, MI 48162 or you can utilize the Township's drop box.

Due to the Coronavirus Covid-19, Frenchtown Township office located at 2744 Vivian Road will be closed until April 13, 2020 pursuant to the Governor's Executive Order 2020-21 or through the period of an extension of that order. The Frenchtown Parks playscapes will be closed and all Township and Committee meetings will be canceled until April 30, 2020.

At Frenchtown Township, the health and well-being of our community is our top priority. Therefore, the Easter Party that was scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020 has been canceled. 

Frenchtown Township is seeking election workers who are proud to be part of a team that works together to assure that every vote counts. We pay you to get trained and it is only a few days a year. The rate of pay is $17.10 per hour. Please contact the Clerk's office at (734) 242-5800.
